New York Jets running back Breece Hall may have dropped out of ESPN’s top 10 running backs list this year, but the 24-year-old isn’t letting it weigh him down. Instead, Hall has shifted his focus to the upcoming release of EA Sports’ College Football 26—a return of a fan-favorite NCAA franchise.
On Monday, Hall took to X (formerly Twitter) to make a playful demand:
“Man can somebody get me a CFB code.”

The excitement surrounding the July 10 release of College Football 26 is high—not just among fans, but also with current and former players like Hall. The game will feature the real names and likenesses of actual college athletes, marking a new chapter in the series after years of legal and licensing hurdles.
With Jets training camp not kicking off until later this month, Hall has some free time on his hands—perfect for diving into the new game.
Breece Hall’s College Football Legacy
Hall was a standout at Iowa State, earning All-American honors twice and being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons. In two of his three college years, he rushed for over 1,400 yards and was a dominant force in the Cyclones’ backfield. Hall opted to skip his final season to enter the 2022 NFL Draft, where he was selected by the Jets in the second round.
In 2024, Hall started 16 games, logging 876 rushing yards and averaging 4.2 yards per carry—a solid campaign, though not quite enough to maintain his elite standing among NFL backs.
Hall’s Slide in Rankings
Despite being named ESPN’s top running back under 25 just last year, Hall now finds himself outside the top 10 in the broader RB rankings for 2025. ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler placed him in the honorable mentions category, citing injuries and team circumstances as contributing factors.
One NFL coordinator explained:
“He’s been one of the best in the league at points. I just haven’t felt the same way recently. I know the injuries have been an issue.”
An AFC executive added:
“That’s not all his fault. He was in a bad offense. Still has good lower-body balance and home run juice.”
As the new NFL season approaches, Hall will be aiming to prove doubters wrong and re-establish himself among the league’s top-tier running backs. But first, he’s hoping someone can hook him up with that College Football 26 access code.
