Karl Stefanovic calls Chris Hemsworth 'annoying' as he chats to the Thor star's wife Elsa Pataky

Karl Stefanovic jokingly called Chris Hemsworth ‘annoying’ during an interview with Elsa Pataky about her new Netflix action film, Interceptor, on the Today show on Wednesday.

The comment was made when Karl and his co-host Ally Langdon asked Elsa, 45, if Chris ‘tried to tell her what to do with fight scenes’ on her new film for which Chris serves as an executive producer.

‘Chris is the action man in the house and I wanted to say, mummy is an action girl too!’ Elsa said, with Karl responding ‘Chris does those soft god of thunder films. It’s all CGI,’ Karl said in reference to Chris’ blockbuster film series, Thor.

‘He is a producer. Was he vaguely… whenever I’ve seen him, he can be annoying about how he goes on about fight scenes and what not.

Did he try to tell you what to do with the fight scenes?’ he added.

Elsa said that she happily took Chris’ advice, with him being an action hero in Hollywood.

‘A little bit. I accept his advice because he’s been doing this for a long time,’ Elsa said.

‘He knows how to punch in front of the camera and make it look great. I’m like, “okay, how do you do it?” So all these movements you have to exaggerate.’

Elsa added that to prepare for the role in the action film, she trained for five months and focused on weight training.

‘I started five months before the movie to get training, with weights and diet,’ she said.

‘I wanted to do all the fights. I always wanted to do an action movie so I wanted to do everything,’ she said.

On The Project on Tuesday, Elsa said her action hero husband didn’t spare her when it came to giving advice on her fight scenes while he was an executive producer on Interceptor.

‘He was so bossy!’ Elsa said.

‘He was just telling me, like, “This is the right angle when you punch”. He was just showing me how to do it, what is the right position you have to have,’ she went on.

‘He has been doing it for a long time. It was great having him. He was supporting me from the beginning, from when he first read the script.

‘He said, “You have to do this, it’s going to be fun, you will enjoy it, I know how much you like this kind of movie”.

Elsa was then asked by the show’s hosts how the pair dealt with professional disagreements on set.

‘It’s like your marriage, in a way, you work things out. It’s different when he’s an executive producer, he gives you advice, he supports you. It’s easier than when we are married every day,’ she said.
