The most stunning casinos around the world

One thing that keeps people returning to casinos time and time again is their sheer beauty. Whether it’s a magnificent building, a stylishly decorated interior, or a combination of the two, there’s something about being in a casino that’s hard to match. There are plenty of beautiful casinos around the world and we will take a closer look of some of them below. But if you are not much of a traveller, online casinos like Platincasino do an excellent job of replicating that exciting casino feel.

The Venetian, Macao

Opened on the 27th of August 2007, The Venetian Macao is the second largest casino in the world and the largest single structure hotel in Asia. Owned by the American, Las Vegas Sands company, it’s modelled on its sister resort – The Venetian in Las Vegas. The building itself is stunning to look at, and the USP of the Venetian is the man-made canals that snake around the building. A Gondola ride down these canals really makes you feel like you’re in Venice! Inside, the hotel is just as beautiful as the outside, with elegant sweeping staircases and a painted ceiling reminiscent of the Sistine Chapel itself.

Hotel de Paris, Monte Carlo

Found on the aptly named “Place du Casino” in the Principality of Monaco, the Hotel de Paris first opened its doors in 1864 as part of a Monaco development project led by the Societe des Bains de Mer de Monaco. Since then, it has undergone a $280 million and four-year renovation and was officially reopened in March 2019. The building is exactly what you’d expect from 19th century France/Monaco – a distinctly palatial building on both the outside and the inside. The room’s high ceilings and refined decor are only matched by that of the lobby and the gaming floor. If you stay here, you will never want to leave the hotel!

Sun City Casino Resort, South Africa

Located in the North West province of South Africa, Sun City Resort casino opened its doors to the public on the 7th of December 1979. It was developed by local hotel magnate Sol Kerzner as part of his Sun International property group. The resort itself is massive, with a Skytrain connecting the remote parking lot to the entertainment centre. Surrounded by nature, the casino’s interior reflects its location. As is apt for its location, a stunning jungle theme runs throughout the building. Entering the casino through the park called The Valley of the Waves, gives you the opportunity to cross the fantastic elephant bridge lined on either side with lifesize elephant statues.

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Another casino owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, the Marina Bay Sands, officially opened its doors on the 23rd of June 2010 in Singapore. The first striking aspect about the hotel is its eye-catching three-pillar design. The towers have a combined 2500 rooms and suites, with a shared lobby at the base of the building. The casino has a four-storey central atrium with a lovely flowing gold design. From each level, you can look out and across the casino floor, giving you a sense of just how big the casino is.

Casino Baden-Baden, Germany

The oldest casino on our list, the Casino Baden-Baden, was first designed in 1824 by architect Friedrich Weinbrenner. The simple yet elegant design of the building shields a grand interior design, with many priceless chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. The decoration somehow seems both classic and modern, with gaming tables surrounded by gothic archways and full-wall paintings. It has been visited by many celebrities in its nearly 200 years, inspiring “The Gambler” by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The great Marlene Dietrich referred to it as “the most beautiful casino in the world” – and many certainly agree with her!

Conclusion

There are so many different beautiful casinos around the world that you could dedicate your life to visiting them all, and still struggle to do so. With so many others that we didn’t mention, including the grand Hippodrome casino in London and the historical Casino di Venezia, there’s no shortage of casinos to visit.
