Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is currently working on nine different series for the Paramount Network and Paramount+. That kind of jam-packed schedule doesn’t leave him any time to even think about social media, much less post. But fans can still get a glimpse into Sheridan’s home life in Texas, thanks to his wife Nicole’s Instagram.
‘Yellowstone’ creator Taylor Sheridan is married to a real-life cowgirl
The Yellowstone creator has been married for nine years to Nicole Muirbrook Sheridan, a woman who shares his love of the outdoors and the wild west. According to Wide Open Country, Nicole is a self-proclaimed tomboy who grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also spent a good part of her childhood riding horses on her grandparents’ Wyoming ranch.
When she was a teenager, Nicole was discovered by a modeling scout at a local mall. But she was hesitant about pursuing a modeling career because it just didn’t fit with who she is.
“I was very much a tomboy,” Nicole told Cowgirl Magazine. “I never wanted to brush my hair, I was always in the dirt. Just super tomboy. And I was like, I don’t know, maybe.”
Nicole eventually decided to sign with the renowned NEXT modeling agency, and she had a very successful modeling career in her late teens and early 20s. She walked the runway in Paris, Milan, Los Angeles, and Miami, worked with major fashion brands, and appeared on the covers of Vogue and Marie Claire.

After finding success in the modeling industry, Nicole tried to get her acting break in Hollywood. She landed small roles on TV shows like How I Met Your Mother and Dark Blue. She also appeared in the films The Human Contract and I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.
At the same time, Sheridan was appearing on Sons of Anarchy as Deputy Chief David Hale. To make ends meet, he coached other actors. And that’s how Sheridan met his wife Nicole. The couple quickly moved in together, got married, and welcomed their son Gus.
Over the next few years, Taylor Sheridan quit acting and transitioned into screenwriting and directing. This led to an Oscar nomination for his script Hell or High Water, and he eventually signed a deal with Paramount to make Yellowstone. Now, Sheridan’s net worth is in the tens of millions, and he and Nicole live on their Bosque Ranch with their son in Texas.
Nicole regularly documents their lives on Instagram, posting everything from horseback riding excursions to birthday celebrations to Father’s Day tributes.
The ‘Yellowstone’ creator recently purchased the Four Sixes Ranch
Sheridan’s Yellowstone success led to a nine-figure deal with Paramount, and that financial position allowed him to purchase the famed Four Sixes Ranch in Texas earlier this year. The origin of the Four Sixes Ranch dates back to the post-Civil War era when cattleman Samuel “Burk” Burnett purchased 100 heads of cattle.
The property remained in the Burnett family until 2020, when his great-granddaughter Anne Burnett Marion passed away. In her will, Marion instructed that the ranch be sold. And that’s when Sheridan stepped in. The Yellowstone creator led a group that purchased all 266,000 acres, which was listed for $341 million.
The Four Sixes Ranch will be the location for a new Yellowstone sequel titled 6666, but it will also remain a working ranch. After the purchase, Nicole Sheridan explained on Instagram that they would be “honoring and preserving a true western legacy. #home ❤️6666❤️.”
Yellowstone seasons 1 through 4 are now playing on Peacock. Season 5 premieres this summer on the Paramount Network.
