Federal prosecutors have called for Sean “Diddy” Combs to be sentenced to more than 11 years in prison following his conviction on two counts related to transportation for prostitution. The courtroom drama has captivated public attention as the hip-hop mogul faces sentencing this Friday in Manhattan, New York.

While he was acquitted of more grave charges such as racketeering and sex trafficking, Diddy’s convictions on prostitution-related charges have serious legal consequences. Prosecutors argue that his actions, described as involving coercion, violence, and instilling fear, warrant a lengthy sentence and a substantial fine.

Prosecutors Demand Over 11 Years and $500,000 Fine

The prosecution has requested a minimum of 135 months (over 11 years) imprisonment, along with a $500,000 fine. Their submission highlights the severity of Diddy’s crimes, comparing them to other cases where sentences exceeded a decade for similar offenses involving violence and manipulation.

The prosecution underscored Diddy’s unrepentant stance and detailed the adverse effects reported by victims, who described abusive and degrading treatment during drug-fueled sexual encounters referred to as “freak offs.” A letter from his former partner Cassie Ventura painted him as a manipulative and cruel figure, reinforcing the prosecutors’ call for a stringent punishment.

Defense Seeks a Lenient Sentence Amid Harsh Detention Claims

Contrary to prosecutors, Diddy’s legal team has urged the judge to impose a significantly lighter sentence of about 14 months, factoring in time already served since his arrest in September 2024.

The defense also highlighted the harsh conditions of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where Diddy remains incarcerated, including claims of frequent violence, poor hygiene, and lack of fresh air. They argue that he has been sufficiently punished, noting behavioral reforms such as sobriety and his efforts to assist fellow inmates with educational programs.

Sentencing is scheduled for Friday at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan United States Courthouse in Manhattan. Although Diddy’s conviction stands, defense motions for a new trial or acquittal remain unsettled, adding suspense to the impending sentence.

The judge’s ruling will determine Diddy’s future amid extensive media scrutiny and public interest. While the maximum sentence could be up to 20 years, the debate centers on the appropriate penalty reflecting the seriousness of the convictions and Diddy’s conduct.
