Who is Charlie Adam ?
Former Liverpool and Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his car allegedly hit a tree.
The Scotsman is believed to have been traveling near Dundee when the incident occurred at 4:25 am Monday.
A tree was damaged in an incident at 4:25 am Monday.
Footage from the scene shows a damaged tree trunk and what appears to be a car part.
Dundee Captain Adam, who turned 36 on Friday, was arrested and charged and a report will be sent to prosecutors.
A local who lives near the place said: “I heard a loud crash outside and then silence.
“I didn’t think much of it because you hear cars going up and down that road all the time.
“It wasn’t until the next morning that I noticed a large indentation in the tree. I just hoped no one was hurt. ”
Former Blackpool, Reading, Stoke and Liverpool star Adam joined his childhood heroes Dundee in September last year.
Mum Eleanor Death
The father of three, who is also a regular on BBC football coverage of Scotland, has suffered from family trauma in recent years.
His mother, , died of cancer in December 2020, eight years after the death of her father, her former soccer player, also 50-year-old Charlie.
His brother Grant was jailed in October for robbery.
Arrested and Charged
Scottish Police said: “Shortly after 4:25 am on Monday, December 13, 2021, a 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with a traffic violation on Dundee Road West, Dundee.
“A report will be sent to the Public Prosecutor.”
Dundee FC said: “We are aware of the incident but will not comment further.”
Adam was injured in Saturday’s loss to Ross County in Dingwall.
