In Chicago, a mother named Delisa Tucker of six was shot and killed in the same area where her 14-year-old son was killed just three days before.
Delisa Tucker was fatally shot in the chest while visiting a monument for her son, Kevin Tinker, in their Roseland neighborhood home on Wednesday morning.
She was 31 years old.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Tucker had been lighting candles for her murdered son after he was killed in a shooting on Sunday evening.
No one has been apprehended, and police have not established whether the two shootings are linked.

After responding to a ShotSpotter alarm just before 12.30 a.m. Wednesday, cops say they located Tucker’s body lying on the pavement.
She was taken to Roseland Hospital and pronounced dead there.
Authorities said they haven’t discovered anyone who observed the incident on the street.
Her son had been hit many times by gunshots three days previously and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kevin was standing outside a home that had been targeted earlier in the day when he was shot.
Police haven’t said whether they believe Kevin was targeted as well.
According to a GoFundMe page, the teen’s family characterized him as a “calm boy” who wasn’t involved in any gang-related activity.
