’16 and Pregnant’ Star Charged in Georgia Man’s Drug Overdose Death

A former star of reality show “16 and Pregnant” has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a man from a drug overdose.

According to WAGA, police officers found 37-year-old John Mark Harris dead from an overdose in a home in Rome, Georgia, on February 16, 2025. They also found possible drug paraphernalia.

A warrant for the arrest of Whitney Blake Purvis, 33, accuses her of providing Harris with a combination of Xylazine and Fentanyl, known as “Tranq,” which authorities say caused his death.

In addition to involuntary manslaughter, Purvis was charged on Monday with distribution of a controlled substance and use of a communication device to commit a felony, Court records show Purvis was also charged with a felony count of distribution of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of use of a communication device to commit a felony involving a controlled substance.

The arrest comes a month after Purvis announced the death of her 16-year-old son, Weston Owen Gosa, Owen Gosa, in a Facebook post.

Purvis was featured on the first season of the MTV reality show in 2009. According to the Coosa Valley News, she’s been arrested previously for shoplifting and failing to make child support payments.
