Anna Kepner’s Brother Unwittingly Slept in Cruise Cabin with Her Body Hidden Under Bed: Report

Anna Kepner’s younger brother reportedly slept in a cabin aboard the Carnival Horizon earlier this month, with his sister’s body stuffed underneath a bed.

Sources told the Daily Mail that 18-year-old Anna had been sharing a cabin with her stepbrother, 16, and her brother, 14, as their family embarked on a six-day Western Caribbean cruise.

On November 6, Anna reportedly felt ill and returned to the cabin. Both brothers returned to the cabin that day. The 14-year-old said he changed clothes, and then left to take pictures, according to what sources told the outlet.

Anna was in the cabin when the 14-year-old left, but when he returned, she wasn’t there. He didn’t think anything of it, and went to sleep.

When Anna failed to meet up with her family the next morning, they determined she was missing.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, a room steward reportedly discovered Anna’s body at around 11 a.m. while cleaning the cabin. The ship then detoured and stopped at Port Miami on November 8.

Anna Kepner died on November 7, according to the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner. The Cruise Globe reports that the vessel was in Cuba at the time, on the northwest coast.

The medical examiner has not yet revealed how she died.

According to court documents, her 16-year-old stepbrother is now considered a suspect.

Anna Kepner’s birth mother has reportedly said she found out her daughter passed away through a Google search.

According to WESH, Anna’s mother, Heather Wright, who lives in Oklahoma, said she hasn’t seen her daughter in a few years, and that her father didn’t contact her.

“I found out through Google. I ended up Googling it, because the only information I had was that my daughter was on a cruise,” Wright said.

Wright remembered her daughter as a loving person who enjoyed being near the water and swimming.

“She always wanted to make people laugh. She loved the water; we were constantly going to the lake here where I live so she could go swimming,” Wright said.

Meanwhile, the FBI in Miami, currently leading the investigation, has not released additional details and has not confirmed the claims.
