BOLO: NY Woman Missing After Jumping Unexpectedly from Moving Car

Police in New York are searching for a Long Island woman who reportedly jumped from a moving car Friday night in the Oyster Bay hamlet area.

According to News 12 Long Island, Brittany Kritis, 32, fled the vehicle in a panicked state at around 8:14 p.m. when her husband, Fernando Garip, drove near McCouns Lane. She reportedly tossed her phone in bushes.

“She hopped out unexpectedly after pulling forward after a stop sign,” her brother, Niko, told Patch. “We are still actively pulling together the videos of the path she ran.”

He added that Kritis should be “considered a vulnerable person,” and possibly disoriented, but not a danger to others.

According to her sister-in-law, Kritis left her wallet at Florence Ave. in Oyster Bay, and may think she is being tracked and in danger.

“We’ve been combing wooded areas, rural areas, suburban areas, everything,” Garip told News 12. “We’re going to be at this until she’s home.”

Kritis was last seen in black pants and a black jacket with a fur collar. She also wears glasses.

She described as standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Nassau County Police Department Missing Person Squad at 516-573-7347.
