A search is underway in Vermont after a woman vanished from her college campus last week.
Lia Smith, 21, was last seen at Middlebury College on Friday. According to The Middlebury Campus, Smith’s father filed a missing person report on Sunday after she stopped answering her cell phone and corresponding with friends.
Smith, a senior, is from California. Additional details regarding her disappearance were not provided.
“If there’s any concern, or if Lia thought she was in trouble for anything, she’s not; nobody’s in trouble for this,” Middlebury police Sergeant Nathan Hayes told The Middlebury Campus. “We just truly want to find out where she is and make sure she’s safe.”
Smith was described as standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, and having brown hair and blue eyes.
