The search continues for a New Jersey man who has been missing for more than a week.
Rutgers University student Morty Wortman, 22, was reported missing on November 21 after he vanished near the Collier Mills Wildlife Management Area. Jersey Shore Online reported that he is considered endangered, though specifics were not provided.
Wortman’s brother told News12 that his car was discovered at Regional Day School in Jackson on November 21. Surveillance footage showed Wortman and a friend getting into someone’s vehicle at the school, according to the brother.
“The Rutgers University Police Department is working closely with the Jackson Police Department, which is leading the investigation,” Rutgers spokesperson Megan Florance told NJ.com.
Wortman was described as standing 5-feet and 10 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, and having dark brown hair and brown eyes. He has a nose piercing and several earrings in both ears.
Wortman was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, burgundy hoodie, and blue jeans.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call Jackson police at 732-928-1111 and press “0” to speak with a dispatcher.
