Cops in Vermont Searching for Woman They Say Let Baby Drown in Bathtub Last Year

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a woman they say left her 3-month-old daughter in the bathtub to drown more than a year ago.

But now, cops have no idea where 34-year-old Briana Arnold is, according to WCAX.

The incident took place in October 2024, and police found narcotics in Arnold’s bloodstream and kitchen at the time.

But a warrant for her arrest was only just issued, charging her with manslaughter, child cruelty, and drug charges.

Toxicology testes found fentanyl and methadone in Arnold’s bloodstream. Investigators believe she left the baby alone in the tub as it was filling, WPTZ said.

Police said Arnold called 911 and attempted CPR herself, then authorities took over when they arrived, WVNY reported.

Authorities say that contacted Arnold on the phone after the warrant was issued, but she is not custody and police don’t know where she is.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations at 802-652-6895 or the local police department where she is known to be located.
