Federal Manhunt for New York Husband After 70-Year-Old Wife Found Dead, Reward Offered

The U.S. Marshals Service is leading a federal manhunt for a 77-year-old New York man wanted for the killing of his wife.

Buffalo police, now supported by the U.S. Marshals, are searching for Anderson Tate, following the discovery of 70-year-old Patricia Tate late last year, according to WIVB.

On December 30, officers responded to a 911 call for an unresponsive woman at the 200 block of Cedar Street. The 911 call came in just before midnight. When officers arrived at the Buffalo residence, they found Patricia Tate deceased at the scene.

Patricia’s suspicious death quickly shifted into a focused homicide investigation, with Anderson Tate named the prime suspect.

Crime Stoppers WNY described Anderson Tate as a Black male who stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds. He is mostly bald with a small amount of white hair around the sides.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest.

Anyone with any information on Anderson Tate or his possible whereabouts is encouraged to contact the CrimeStoppers hotline at (716) 867-6161. Tips should be submitted through the “Buffalo Tips” mobile app.
