The search continues for a missing Alabama toddler, Genesis Reid, a 2-year-old reported missing out of Enterprise.
According to ABC 13, Genesis’ father and other family members have been cooperative as the search continues, police said. Her mother, Adrienne Reid, remains behind bars on felony charges of providing false information to law enforcement.
During a Thursday morning press conference, Enterprise police stated that they will continue the search, along with the assistance from the FBI and state agencies.
“It’s very emotional all of us, just about 90 percent of us have kids,” EPD Chief Michael Moore said. “We will search anywhere leads take us.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Reid said she discovered Genesis missing from bed on February 16, and noticed a door had been opened at their apartment at 201 Apach Drive in Enterprise.
Reid reported Genesis missing at 3:10 a.m. that morning, according to police.
Neighbors reportedly said that they haven’t seen Genesis for weeks and that prior to January, they saw her many times, while out on walks with her mother.
While speaking with law enforcement, Reid allegedly claimed that a woman named Moriah, described as a family friend, “could have information” on the toddler’s whereabouts.
Moore stated that the woman is only wanted for questioning, and despite social media rumors, has not been found and was not pulled over by police, WHDN reports.
Reid is currently considered the only suspect in the case.
Police are now asking anyone who saw Genesis over the past month to come forward. They are also asking anyone who knows Reid and interacted with her between December 24 to February 16 to contact law enforcement.
