An internet search was conducted for Nancy Guthrie’s home in the weeks leading up to her reported abduction.
Citing Google Trends data, Fox News reported that someone in Arizona searched for Guthrie’s address between June 21 and 28, 2025. The address was searched again on January 11.
According to Fox News, Google Images was accessed twice to also search for Guthrie’s address, between the dates of March 1 and 8, 2025, and November 30 and December 1, 2025. The unidentified user specifically sought out a map of the residence.
Fox also reported that a search was conducted for Savannah Guthrie’s salary between December 13 and 20, 2025.
Officials have not said whether the various internet searches are relevant to their investigation.
Investigators are in the process of analyzing a glove found two miles from Guthrie’s home and DNA samples recovered from the residence. On Tuesday, the FBI confirmed that genealogy testing is being used to identify familial matches after DNA samples were entered into the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) and yielded no matches.
Pima County sheriff Chris Nanos also announced on Tuesday that the DNA samples taken from the home and glove did not match.
The shift in the investigation comes a week after the FBI released footage and surveillance stills of someone outside of Guthrie’s home around the time she vanished on January 31. The footage showed someone outside Guthrie’s home wearing a glove which resembled the one found two miles from her home.
In addition to locating Guthrie, police are investigating two ransom notes that were reportedly sent to local news outlets. One of the notes demanded millions in Bitcoin in exchange for Guthrie’s return.
No arrests have been made.
