A cause of death has been revealed for Chicago special education teacher, Linda Brown, found deceased in Lake Michigan Monday.
According to FOX 32, the Cook County Medical Examiner ruled 53-year-old Brown’s death a suicide by drowning. Toxicology results are currently pending.
Police recovered Brown’s body from the water, near the 3100-block of South Lake Shore Drive.
Additional details have not yet been released.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Brown was last seen in the 4500-block of South Martin Luther King Drive, which is close to her residence, on January 3.
Security footage that day showed her getting out of her vehicle, a blue Honda Civic, and walking over a pedestrian bridge toward the water.
Brown was a longtime teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School.
“Our deepest condolences go out to her husband, family, friends, students and coworkers,” the Chicago Teachers Union said in a statement Tuesday.
“We know so many of our members at Healy, Prieto, Tarkington and other schools have been sharing concern, love, and appreciation for Linda and messages have been pouring in from across the city.”
