Missing 14-Year-Old Girl Texted Mom, Then Nothing – Crime Online

Georgia police are searching for a 14-year-old girl that has been missing since July.

While South Fulton police have deemed Lameiya Buchanan a runaway, her mother, Shericca Owens, told WAGA that her daughter has bipolar disorder and depression. Buchanan reportedly left on July 31, after going to work with her father.

“She ran away when he fell asleep,” the missing teen’s mother said.

According to WAGA, South Fulton police believe Buchanan is endangered. Owens said she suspects her daughter is being held against her will.

“She has texted me before saying she wants to come,” Owens said, referring to a text she reportedly received on July 28. “For her to text and say she’s ready to come home and then no response, I believe something is wrong.”

South Fulton police said Buchanan has run away in the past. However, they believe she could be in danger.

“If she is being sex trafficked, we would like to get her the best resources to help her overcome such a situation,” police Lieutenant Ebony Bullock told WAGA. “It’s a possibility that she may be with some people who do not have her best interest at heart.”

Buchanan was described as being 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 164 pounds, and having black hair. She was reportedly last seen wearing black ripped jeans, a black Puma shirt, khaki-colored Yeezy slides, and a small pink or red purse with a small chain.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call South Fulton police at 470-693-2707.
