Mississippi Teen Confesses to Beating Grandmother to Death

A Mississippi teenager has been charged with murder in the beating death of his 73-year-old grandmother at her church.

Ollie Hamilton was found last Wednesday inside Smith Chapel Holiness Church and pronounced dead at the scene, The Monroe Journal reported.

Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook said the investgation ultimately led to Hamilton’s 17-year-old grandson.

“This is a tragedy of the worst kind because you’ve got a beloved church member, family member and community member killed and you come to find out within 24 hours she was killed by another beloved family member,” said Crook.

Jadynn Hamilton reported confessed to beating his grandmother to death, WTVA reported.

The teen has been charged as an adult with murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond. No motive has been revealed.
