Ohio Cops Investigate Murder of 19-Year-Old Man Found Dead on Side of Road

The death of a 19-year-old Ohio man found dead on the side of a road on Sunday has been ruled a homicide.

Joshua Lavoy, Jayden Nelson’s 19-year-old roommate, has been charged with tampering with evidence and withholding from investigators in connection with Nelson’s death in Ohio Township, WLWT reports.

Nelson was found dead on the side of a road at about 4 a.m. on Sunday, troopers initially said they believed he was the victim of a hit-and-run crash. Lavoy was arrested on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office determined that Nelson’s death was a homicide.

It’s not clear if that changes the initial view that he was killed in a hit-and-run.

Court documents say Lavoy discarded evidence, including his phone, deleted social media, and lied to police about other people believed connected with the investigation.

Roc’s House of Billiards, one of Nelson’s favorite hangouts, is hosting a benefit for his family on Sunday, WXIX reported.

“Jayden would come here to play pool. All my staff knows who he is, so it just felt right to offer up our place for him,” said owner Amanda Johnson.
