Oregon Man Charged With Death of Missing Idaho Woman

An Oregon man has been indicted on a murder charge in the death of an Idaho woman who disappeared in 2019.

Jordan Jarrad Law, 46, was also indicted on two counts of rape of another victim discovered during the lengthy investigation, according to the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office.

Rae Allison Berwanger was 54 at the time of her disappearance and was last seen by her brother at Law’s home in Bonner County, Idaho, on March 3, 2019. She was officially reported missing on March 7, and Law was identified as a person of interest at the time,

The grand jury returned the indictment against Law on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said. In addition to rape and murder, he was also charged with offering a false or forged instrument for record and destruction of evidence. Those charges were related to Berwanger.

Law was taken into custody on Wednesday in Spokane, Oregon.

According to the Bonner County Daily Bee, Law was charged with using Berwanger’s bank card without her permission and received a “withheld judgment.”

It’s not clear when he will be extradited to Idaho.
