Police found Wisconsin woman Gabriella Cartagena, 24, on Tuesday, following her disappearance earlier this month and a disturbing message.
According to ABC 7, Cartagena’s family said she has died, but authorities have yet to confirm the information or share additional updates.
“More information will be released as soon as possible. We would like to thank the entire community for the help we have received,” the city of Marinette Police Department posted on Facebook.
A GoFundMe page launched by Cartagena’s brother indicated that her death had been “completely unexpected.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Cartagena was last seen February 4 in Marinette’s Red Arrow Park, at around 5 p.m. Police described her as “involuntarily missing.”
Following a high-speed chase in Monticello, police arrested Robert Chilcote, 29, who had been wanted for questioning in connection with “aggravated assault and possible homicide,” FOX 11 reports.
On Monday, Chilcote appeared in court on an aggravated battery charge.
He’s also charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and being a fugitive from another state.

Loved ones said Cartagena was last seen with Chilcote while leaving to go to a grocery store, and nothing seemed unusual at the time.
However, during a phone call, family members reportedly heard Cartagena say,”Please don’t shoot me. I’m sorry.”
Chilcote remains behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
