Seattle Teens Arrested for Wearing Clown Masks and Brandishing Guns While Harassing Women

Two Seattle teens claimed they were pranking when they harassed two women in the middle of the night Monday wearing clown masks and waving around guns.

The two women flagged down officers in the city’s Bitter Lake neighborhood shortly after midnight and said they had been approached by a pair of clowns, Seattle Police said. The women said one of the suspects was carrying a gun and the other was constantly adjusting his waistband, which prompted the the to flee.

While officers were speaking with the victims, they saw a car matching the description the women had given pull into the parking lot of a nearby fast food restaurant. Police made contact with the two suspects and found clown masks and extended magazines in the car.  KIRO reported that cops also found two handguns in the car.

The two — identified only as a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old boy — were arrested on a harassment charge, police said.

The 19-year-old told admitted the incident and claimed it was a “prank,” even providing cops with video footage of the “prank.” The women told police they feared they were going to be abducted.

The 19-year-old was booked into the King County Jail while the boy was taken to the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center. Police did not name the miscreants.

Authorities asked anyone with additional information to contact the Seattle Police Department Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
