Police in Michigan are searching for a woman who allegedly threw scalding coffee at a Saginaw McDonald’s worker Tuesday.
According to the Buena Vista Police Department, security footage from Tuesday morning captured Casharra Brown, 48, engaging in a heated confrontation with the manager at the fast food restaurant off Dixie Highway.
Brown reportedly became upset over a lengthy wait for an online order. She claimed she had been waiting over an hour and demanded a refund.
Buena Vista police released video footage of the altercation with the intention of identifying the suspect. The video shows Brown screaming at the composed employee, repeatedly calling the manager a “liar” as the situation escalated.
The manager told Brown, “You’ve got your coffee,” and then explained to her, “That’s all that you were charged for. Your refund will take up to 48 hours.”
As the worker attempted to disengage and walk away, the agitated customer reportedly ripped the lid off the large hot cup of coffee, reached over the service barrier, and flung the steamy beverage at the back of the worker’s uniform.
The unidentified manager immediately let out a loud scream as Brown quickly fled the McDonald’s premises while yelling, F*** you, b****!” “Catch that hot a** coffee!”
Police told FOX News Digital that the victim sustained minor injuries.
Following the incident, law enforcement’s video footage on social media prompted an overwhelming public response.
“I must have gotten about 100 tips,” Buena Vista detective Russ Pahssen told MLive.”Within about two minutes, we had her identified.”
These tips prompted a warrant for Brown’s arrest.
Pahssen confirmed that the police department sent a request to the Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office, to file charges against Brown for felonious assault.
