A Southwest Flight destined for Florida diverted Friday night to to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, over a possible security threat.
The Southwest Flight 2094 left Tennessee, headed to Fort Lauderdale, when the plane was rerouted to Georgia for a ‘possible security matter’ involving a passenger that the flight crew needed to manage.
The flight landed in Atlanta just after 9 p.m., where the passenger in question exited the flight.
Passengers can be seen in a video The New York Post obtained from X, with their hands above their heads and the reported “security matter” passenger being forcefully removed from the aircraft.

The FBI and the Atlanta Police Department determined there was no threat after interviewing of the passenger, according to WSB-TV.
No charges will be filed, according to officials.
Southwest released a statement apologizing to its customers and thanking the crew.
“We appreciate the professionalism of our flight crew and apologize to our customers for the delay,” a Southwest spokesperson stated.
WSB-TV reported that the flight had been scheduled to its original destination a little after 11 p.m.
No official information has been released at this time about what the potential security issue entailed.
