SILVER ALERT: Elderly Couple Fails to Return Home After Thanksgiving With Family

Police in Texas are searching for an elderly couple who never made it home after spending Thanksgiving with family.

The Panhandle Police Department says Linda and Gary Lightfoot, 81 and 82, left their relatives’ home there at about 3 p.m. but never made it to their home in Lubbock, about 150 miles away.

The Texas Department of Public Safety issued a Silver Alert on Sunday.

Panhandle Police Chief Sace Hardman said Monday that the couple’s 2024 Toyota Camry with Texas plates TWN0925 was reportedly spotted in New Mexico on Friday, but authorities weren’t able to find it after that alleged sighting, KIAH reported.

According to an alert posted by The Aware Foundation, the couple doesn’t have a cell phone or other device that can be tracked, and Gary Lightfoot depends on oxygen.

Anyone with information should contact the Carson County Sheriff’s Office at 806-537-3511.
