Sources: Woman Arrested in Deaths of 2 Girls Found in Suitcases

A woman has been charged with murder and child endangerment in the investigation of two young girls found dead in suitcases in a Cleveland field.

Cleveland Police have not released the name of the 28-year-old woman, who was taken into custody earlier on Wednesday for questioning, WOIO reported. The station said that Aliyah Henderson was booked into the Cuyahoga County Jail on those charges Wednesday evening.

Neighbors told the station that Henderson lived at the home where officers executed a search warrant and took someone in for questioning. That home is near where the bodies were found.

The two girls’ bodies were found on Monday when a citizen’s dog alerted on a spot off the beaten path, as CrimeOnline reported. The dog walker called 911, and responded officers found the first suitcase and body, then found the second one nearby.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office said that DNA testing showed the two girls were half sisters. Investigators had previously said they were between 8 and 13 years old and 10 and 14 years old.

Investigators have not indicated they have identified the girls, but if an arrest has been made, that’s highly probable.
