Texas Girls Softball Coach Charged With Indecency With a Child

A Texas youth softball coach was arrested last week and charged with four counts of indecency with a child.

The incidents reportedly took place late last year and earlier this year, according to the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said investigators found that Donnie Edwin Fonville, 35, “has been involved in activities that present him with easy access to young children.”

According to KXII, Fonville coached girls softball at the Trenton Youth Sports Association until his arrest on Friday.

The sheriff’s office said it “does not believe there is any ongoing threat to the general public” but noted that the investigation is “open and active.”

No further details were made available.
