Texas Woman Accused of Sexually Assaulting 7-Year-Old Boy

Texas police arrested a woman on Saturday for allegedly sexually abusing a 7-year-old boy last year.

In March 2024, Waco police reportedly learned that the victim had accused Shapasshun Brooks, 32, of forcing him to perform oral sex on her. Detectives tried to contact Brooks before issuing an arrest warrant, but they were unsuccessful, according to the Waco Tribune.

The Waco Tribune reported that this is the third time Brooks has been accused of crimes involving children.

In 2015, Brooks was charged with failing to seek medical treatment for a boy in her care. Though she received five years of probation, she was sentenced to 14 months in jail in 2013 for violating curfew.

The same day, Brooks was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle in 2022. She was sentenced to another 14 months in jail to run concurrently with the other sentence.

In the latest case, Brooks is charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault. She remains jailed on $250,000 bond.

Brooks’ relationship to the 7-year-old boy was not disclosed.
