A suspicious death investigation is underway in San Diego after a woman with a head wound was found dead in a parking lot.

San Diego Police said the woman was bleeding from her head, KNSD reported.

The call came in just after 2:30 p.m. to a parking lot belonging to the Westwood Club, a community recreation center in Rancho Bernardo. The woman was found lying on the ground outside her vehicle.

Police called in the department’s homicide until due to the woman’s “unexplained injuries.” They are awaiting an autopsy for cause and manner of death.

Meanwhile, investigators remained on the scene into the night canvassing the area and speaking with any potential witnesses.
