Woman Found Dead in Burning Camper Had Been Shot

An Ohio woman found dead in a burning camping trailer this week had been shot, investigators say.

Toledo Police said that fire crews were sent to the trailer Tuesday morning, WTOL reported. The camper was in the backyard of a home at the address, and fire had consumed most of the interior.

Crews found a body inside when the fire was extinguished, and the coroner’s office identified the woman on Wednesday as 53-year-old Jennifer Denman. She had a gunshot wound to the head.

The coroner’s office has not yet determined a cause or manner of death.

The cause of the fire is also under investigation; it’s not known if foul play was involved.
