What a strange world progressives live in.
There was an actual ‘mass shooting’ in Stockton, California, Saturday night.
Here it is, only Monday, and it’s already faded from the front page of the liberal media. CNN has nothing more about it. NBC News is talking about a shooting, but it’s what seems to be a sympathetic article about the ‘struggles’ of the unit the Afghan assassin who killed our National Guardsmen in Washington belonged to.

How are progressives always on the wrong side, or take no side at all, when the facts are too ugly for their narrative?
This seems to be the case with the shooting in Stockton, an indiscriminate, savage slaughter of human beings and young lives if ever there was one, and yet?
No unending naval gazing like there is over a lurid but unconfirmed and repeatedly denied fairytale of two sodden drug runners being summarily smoked after being blown out of their contraband boat by the first strike on it.
What we heard first on Saturday evening, while watching the football games, was that a child’s birthday party in Stockton – a CHILD’S birthday party – was well underway Saturday night at an event center next to a Dairy Queen when gunfire and mayhem broke out.

First reports said it was actually at the Dairy Queen, since it featured so prominently in all the videos, but as facts started to roll in, it turned out the party was being held next door.
And it wasn’t party-goers who began shooting at each other…for once.
Then it seemed someone had rolled on up and sprayed the venue with bullets.
A child’s birthday party – knowing children were there.
I asked major dad rhetorically, ‘Are we now living in Beirut or Baghdad, where nowhere is sacred. Not funerals or families?’
And the casualty numbers kept climbing as the ages of the victims kept dropping.
Investigators increased the number of victims to 15 in a mass shooting at a child’s birthday party in Stockton. Four people are dead and 11 others are hospitalized after a violent attack on Saturday that investigators believe was targeted, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
Heather Brent, a sheriff’s office spokesperson, said Sunday that the ages of those who were killed were 8, 9, 14 and 21.
Brent said the shooting took place just before 6 p.m. at a banquet hall in the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in Stockton, where a child’s birthday party was happening with between 100 and 150 people in attendance.
Sheriff’s deputies found more evidence that this wasn’t a random act by one individual but might well have been a coordinated attack that had indeed begun inside the hall.
…San Joaquin Sheriff Patrick Withrow said on Sunday that firearms were found on the roof of the banquet hall, but it’s unclear if that included the weapon used in the shooting. Investigators believe multiple suspects may be involved. It’s also believed the shooting began inside and ended outside the banquet hall.

…The shooting started inside the banquet hall but “worked its way outdoors,” said San Joaquin County Sheriff Patrick Withrow. Investigators believed multiple suspects walked into the party “probably looking for somebody in particular,” he said.
They shot their way through a child’s birthday party.
To my eyes, the initial statement released from the vice-mayor of Stockton was a gobsmacking indictment of the city.

Why isn’t he madder? Why isn’t he going nuts over this?
‘We deserve to know the truth,’ Lee whines.
Well, didn’t the ugly truth that looks like it’s been hanging around Stockton’s neck for the longest time pop out soon enough on Sunday.
The two-year-old was the child of a local Filipino ‘ganster’ rapper who also happens to be a member of one of the established Filipino Crips gangs in town.
This is the Filipino gangster rapper Nano of the Muddy Boyz gang, one of at least two mostly Filipino Crips gangs in Stockton.
It was his daughter who was having a birthday party where multiple gangster rappers were present.

Stockton officials and police knew who these thugs were, but were only forced to reveal the circumstances of the shooting when local journalists revealed them online.
It appears the vice mayor’s problem was being unable to handle the truth, as he already probably knew it. This is a common failing among progressives, besides shifting blame.
There are bullet holes over every surface of the event center, and blood is still on the floor.

Stockton’s homicide rate is trending down a touch this year – the city is quite proud of it.
Last year was a benchmark, though.

Am I really so surprised the vice-mayor is clueless?
The mayor eventually called it what it was and issued a stern ‘stop doing that.’
…Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi told the outlet the shooting was related to gang violence, labeling the tragic incident “domestic terrorism.”
“Let’s call it what it is. This is domestic terrorism. This is gang violence, and it has to stop in our city,” Fugazi told the outlet.
The Trump administration has offered its assistance.
Should Mayor Fugazi [Beege adds: a ‘former teacher’, oh, hello] avail herself of any part of the offer, that would be about the only thing that keeps this story in the news at this point.
And that’s the real #sadz.
A little guy’s birthday party turns into a bloodbath, and it doesn’t meet progressive parameters for being important enough.
They live in a different world I want no part of.
