It’s become a one-stop shop for brides searching for their perfect white dress, but now Reformation has launched a range for women facing a completely different set of circumstances… the Divorce Collection.

The middle-class favourite has worked with none other than American attorney Laura Wasser, 57, who has playfully been dubbed the Queen of Celebrity divorce thanks to her A-Lister roster, including Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie and Heidi Klum.

‘Because she’s really good at helping women feel sexy and empowered. And, coincidentally, so are we. In our new campaign with the acclaimed divorce lawyer, we’re doing that together,’ the Reformation website reads.

The sustainable brand, launched by Yael Aflalo in Los Angeles in 2009, quickly became a favourite among celebrities, including Kendall Jenner and Kate Moss, with demand driving locations in the UK.

Wasser’s range with the brand emphasises that divorce is no reason to slow down when it comes to looking your best, with standout items including a £248 bold red midi dress with a foldover off-the-shoulder neckline.

There’s also a stunning, sleeveless black Alani Knit midi dress, also priced at £248, that comes with the warning: ‘May cause compliments’.

Elsewhere, the collection includes a £128 Dump Him sweatshirt, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the Harriett Buhai Centre for Family Law in LA, to ‘support their work in helping people dump him safely, responsibly, and at no cost.’

‘With a collection made for women who don’t settle, in court or when it comes to clothes. Featuring sexy, empowering things, and a limited-edition Dump Him Sweatshirt, in case your friends keep asking you for relationship advice,’ the website adds.

It’s not just dresses, the collection also spans silk shirts, accessories, playful skirts and standout heels.

Wasser, as one of the highest-profile divorce lawyers in Los Angeles, has represented some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood.

Her client lists include Britney Spears when she split from Kevin Federline, Angelina Jolie during her long and bitter divorce from Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp’s equally torturous separation from Amber Heard, and Kim Kardashian when her third marriage to Kanye West ended.

She also represented Kevin Costner in court during his contentious legal battle with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner.

It comes after Wasser, whose experience in dissolving marriages has earned her the nickname ‘disso queen’, appeared on an episode of Susan Yara’s podcast, My Life Online, and shared some expert insights into divorce – and the key reasons why marriages fail.

The most common reason why couples get divorced is communication, she said – and more specifically, the lack thereof. ‘A failure to communicate is going to be the biggest problem,’ says Wasser.

‘I think people get married, and in the 1920s and 30s it used to be ’till death do us part’, but people died a lot earlier [then].

‘Now, people are constantly evolving and sometimes they evolve in different directions. If you’re able to communicate and participate in some kind of counselling, even before you get married, and get the tools that you need to deal with things when they may not be so great, I think that’s huge.’

According to Wasser, if a couple is able to find a way to properly communicate, issues can be resolved.

It is, however, essential that both parties communicate. She also said it’s helpful to have a neutral, third party involved, whether it’s a counsellor, therapist, or even a mediator.

‘People have been able to talk things through with a third person in the room that has an objective opinion about things, and they’ve gone, ‘Oh, well, maybe we can actually work this out.’

‘I’ve had people get back together. Not often, but I would say in like 30 years it’s maybe happened like 10 or 11 times,’ she said.

‘I’ve gone through the entire divorce, written up a judgment, and a couple of weeks later they’re like, ‘You’re not going to believe this. We went out for a celebratory dinner, ended up having sex, and now we’re back together.’
