Olivia Dean has been crowned the winner of this year’s Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown.
The British singer reigned supreme with her popular single, Man I Need, topping the lauded chart on Saturday.
Coming in at number two was one half of Aussie duo Peking Duk, Keli Holiday, with his hit Dancing2.
Inside Triple J headquarters, Holiday, real name Adam Hyde and who is dating Abbie Chatfield, said he was about to cry after finding out he had secured a spot so high on the list.
‘I want to weep, I feel so so happy right now, it’s beautiful,’ he said.
‘(Dancing2) taught me that love will always reign supreme and that loving is the most beautiful thing we can do.’
One witty social media user wondered if Holiday’s song could have notched the number one slot with a simple name change.
‘I wonder if Dancing2 would’ve finished first if Keli Holiday called it Dancing1,’ the woman joked.

Keli Holiday came in second place in 2026’s Triple J Hottest 100 chart with his song ‘Dancing2’
In the third position was Tame Impala with their hit Dracula while Playlunch claimed number four with their viral track Keith.
Another UK singer rounded out the top five, with RAYE winning the slot with her single WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!.
Lovers and haters of Tame Impala were quick to jump on the artists’ staggering longevity on the hottest 100 charts throughout the years.
One said: ‘Death. Taxes. Hottest 100 having an entire Tame Impala album’ could only be guaranteed while another said: ‘One can only admire them for now having 29 entries in total by essentially reworking the same song for a decade now.’
The sixth slot on the chart was Australian indie rock band Spacey Jane with Whateverrrr which garnered mixed reactions from listeners.
‘Spacey Jane woooo, preferred over Olivia Dean tbh,’ one said.
‘Spacey Jane just gets in for being Spacey Jane, that song was a**,’ a second wrote.
The seventh slot featured another Olivia Dean hit Nice To Each Other which made her the only artist to score two top 10 placements.

US singer Shane Michael Boose, known professionally as Sombr, claimed the eighth slot with 12 to 12.
He has been touring the country via festivals in recent months and has become a viral sensation thanks to this hit.
The US continued to scoop up placements in the chart with number nine which was claimed by Disco Lines and Tinashe with their dance track No Broke Boys.
Rounding it all out was five-piece Brisbane rock band Ball Park Music with their ‘misconstrued’ song Please Don’t Move To Melbourne.
Frontman Sam Cromack said the song was actually a love letter to Melbourne.
‘I think some people have misconstrued the song as being anti-Melbourne… (But it) is really saying, “Please don’t go” … “Please don’t leave me”,’ he told The Music.
Unlike previous years many Australians chose to defend Triple J’s 2026 list and its song choices.
Whoever did not agree with the selection was simply too old, many said.
One witty social media user wondered if Holiday could have scored the top slot if he had named his song Dancing1 instead
‘Reminder, if you hate the songs playing in the Hottest 100, it’s not because music sucks now, it’s because you’re old,’ one wrote.
Others simply chose to clown the list and the artists which made its top 10 as the night went on after Dean was crowned champion around 8.40pm.
‘Sombr makes music for adults who are still hung up on their high school exes,’ one claimed.
‘Happy Hottest 100 day! Great day made even better that Keli Holiday only got #2,’ a second said.
Not even Triple J’s hosts could escape the flack after their incessant chatter drove many listeners over the edge.
‘Ten year hiatus from the Hottest 100, back into it this year but god the announcers are reminding me why I stopped listening,’ someone said.
‘Oh my god just play the song you c****,’ another added.
‘I’m sorry but the yapping absolutely kills me… please for the love of god Triple J hurry the f*** uppppp,’ a third wrote.
