The pre-wedding celebrations continued on Thursday as Adam Peaty travelled to Finland with fiancée Holly Ramsay and his infant son – after failing to acknowledge his mother’s 60th birthday.
The Olympic swimmer has jetted to Scandinavia for a festive minibreak with Ramsay ahead of their lavish wedding at Bath’s Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul on December 27.
But his mother Caroline has been barred from the service following an increasingly toxic and inconveniently public row that began in November, when she was not invited to her soon-to-be daughter-in-law’s hen-party.
Taking to social media on Thursday, there was no reference to his mother Caroline as he shared his latest holiday update with Instagram followers, despite her milestone 60th taking place on the same day.
Peaty, 30, was also absent from the assortment of birthday messages shared by his mother, among them a birthday card addressed to ‘mom’ from ‘the Peaty family,’ suggesting he is yet to acknowledge her personal milestone.
The athlete appeared to have other things on his mind while out in snowy Scandinavia with Ramsay, 25, and five year old son George, his only child with former partner Eiri Munro.

Among a handful of holiday snaps, Peaty was pictured waist deep in heavy snow while sledding with his loved ones.
Elsewhere, George was seen being given a brief tutorial after climbing aboard a miniature snowmobile, while Ramsay was also pictured alongside Peaty during the outdoor excursion, which included a trip to the Northern Lights.
Taking to her own Instagram platform on Thursday, Caroline confirmed she was celebrating her 60th while sharing a handful of tributes from various family members.
One message read: ‘Happy 60th birthday to one of the strongest woman I’ve ever met… thank you for everything you’ve done for us and the boys!
‘Thank you for guiding me through the good and the bad… you’ve been there for me for 18 years and I’m truly grateful so please put your feet up, relax and enjoy your day.’
Elsewhere, Caroline’s life from birth to the present day was documented in a picture collage by her aunt Janet and uncle Eddie, with the accompanying caption: ‘It only seems like yesterday since you were born Caroline, a lovely Christmas present making me an aunty for the first time.
‘Many happy returns of the day, happy 60th birthday to you.’
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Caroline admitted the last 12 months had been among the most difficult of her life, but vowed to bounce back in the new year.

A spokesperson for the Ramsay family told Daily Mail that Adam’s family had attended the engagement party and were aware it was filmed.
