Aldi Australia will stock the Ambiano Ice Cream and Frozen Treat Maker, priced at $179, as part of the Special Buys range at the annual Black Wednesday sale

A familiar appliance is about to hit the shelves as part of the Special Buys range at the annual Aldi Australia Black Wednesday sale.

In fact, it’s widely predicted that this kitchen buy will be an instant sell-out.

Landing soon in the middle aisle of the budget supermarket is the Ambiano Ice Cream and Frozen Treat Maker, priced at $179.

The limited edition release follows the trend for homemade ice cream machines, which have recently become a must-have kitchen appliance.

An Aldi Australia spokesperson told Daily Mail that the device is the perfect find ‘as Aussies get ready for a summer of entertaining’.

‘But be quick, as they’re only available while stocks last!’ the spokesperson added.

The popularity of homemade ice cream makers kicked off with the release of the Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker, retailing for $349.

And the similarity of the upcoming Aldi dupe hasn’t gone unnoticed by bargain hunters, with one shopper describing the new product as a ‘copy of the Ninja’.

A Facebook post announcing the Aldi ice cream maker was shared by the Oh So Busy Mum account, and quickly attracted hundreds of excited replies.

But some Aussie mums expressed concern that it would be almost impossible to find in-store.

‘Aldi Special Buys are always hard to get,’ lamented one person.

‘This will be gone in 10 minutes,’ predicted another, while others joked there would be ‘fighting in the aisles’ when it’s released in-store.

The Aldi-stocked ice cream maker features a digital touch control panel with ten preset functions.

Beyond the classic ‘ice cream’ mode, other frozen treat options include ‘frozen yoghurt’, ‘gelato’, ‘slushie’ and ‘milkshake’. The ice cream maker also boasts a ‘mix-in function to customise flavours’, according to the online product description.

It comes equipped with a self-cleaning feature to keep it in top-notch condition.

Also included with the device are a mixing bowl and three containers for storing your homemade ice cream.

The Ambiano Slushie Maker 2L, $199, is another Special Buys limited edition release in Aldi's Black Wednesday sale

Bargain-hunters suggested the Aldi gadget is a dupe of the Ninja SLUSHi Professional Frozen Drink Maker, $499

As a brand new release, there do not yet appear to be reviews of how well the new Aldi ice cream maker works – or any comparisons to the original Ninja Creami.

But some replies to the recent Aldi product Facebook posts questioned whether the budget version could compete with the Ninja appliance, which has an impressive 4.4-star rating.

‘Save up and get the Ninja one – so worth it,’ urged one shopper.

The soon-to-release budget ice cream maker doesn’t appear to be the only Ninja-inspired Special Buys item in the upcoming Black Wednesday sale.

The supermarket is also offering the Ambiano Slushie Maker 2L, priced at $199, which eagle-eyed shoppers quickly spotted as similar to the Ninja SLUSHi Professional Frozen Drink Maker, which retails for $499.

Aldi’s Slushie Maker features five preset functions: ‘slushie, frappe, milkshake, cocktail and wine’. It also has a digital touch control panel, self-cleaning function and insulation mode to maintain temperature.

Aldi isn’t alone in offering a cheaper slushie machine to rival the premium Ninja version. Last month, Kmart Australia sent shoppers into a frenzy when it launched its own slushie maker for $179.

The highly anticipated annual Aldi Australia sale also includes other standout new product deals.
