Here are all the stars who have regretted their cosmetic enhancements, like Bella Hadid, seen here in October

Over the past few years, it seems like there’s been a big boom of transparency in Hollywood regarding plastic surgery, as many A-listers have come clean to the public about going under the knife.

No longer are the days hiding behind a facade of good skincare or a good diet. Now, it’s all about admitting your plastic surgery.

It seems like we’re more aware now than ever of the various procedures that celebrities have gotten, as they tout things like Sculptra and mini facelifts as the source of their fountain of youth.

Even Khloe Kardashian decided to set the record straight on the various procedures she has gotten last summer.

She shared that she had previously undergone a rhinoplasty, threads and injected Botox, Sculptra and fillers into her face and body.

Kylie Jenner even helped out her fans as she shared her exact breast augmentation measurements – 445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle, to be exact – while matriarch Kris Jenner admitted in June that she had a ‘refresh’ on her 2011 facelift this year.

Meanwhile, actress Jane Fonda has spilled about getting work done on her jawline and eyes, and model Chrissy Teigen said she’s had her boobs done three times.

While hoards of celebrities have shared the ‘truth’ behind their age-defying looks, some outspoken stars have also been fiercely honest about their regret over enhancing their appearance.

There are numerous famous faces who got plastic surgery in the past but years later admitted that they wished they never went under the knife.

Some stars even went as far as getting their procedures reversed or implants taken out after changing their stance and sharing their disproval for plastic surgery.

Here are all the famous faces who have slammed cosmetic enhancements but have actually gotten it themselves.

Jamie Lee Curtis slammed plastic surgery for ‘wiping out a generation’ of ‘natural human appearance’

Iconic actress Jamie Lee Curtis has been vocal about her dislike of plastic surgery and what it has done to our society, despite the fact that she went under the knife at age 25.

During a May appearance on 60 Minutes, Curtis revealed that she got plastic surgery at such a young age after a cinematographer on the set of her 1985 film Perfect criticized her looks.

She recalled the cinematographer telling her one day on set that her eyes looked ‘baggy’ and that she couldn’t shoot that day.

After she filmed the movie, she decided to get plastic surgery, but said she regretted the choice ‘immediately.’

Since then, she’s spoken out about how plastic surgery has damaged a generation of people – notably calling it a ‘genocide’ of a ‘generation of women.’

‘I’ve used that word for a long time and I use it specifically because it’s a strong word. I believe that we have wiped out a generation or two of natural human [appearance],’ Curtis told The Guardian during a July 2025 interview.

‘The concept that you can alter the way you look through chemicals, surgical procedures, fillers – there’s a disfigurement of generations of predominantly women who are altering their appearances,’ she continued.

‘And it is aided and abetted by AI, because now the filter face is what people want. I’m not filtered right now.

‘The minute I lay a filter on and you see the before and after, it’s hard not to go: “Oh, well that looks better.” But what’s better? Better is fake.’

At the time, she said that there were many people in the media who were examples of this phenomenon.

‘I would never say to someone, “What have you done?” All I know is that it is a never-ending cycle,’ she added.

‘Once you start, you can’t stop. But it’s not my job to give my opinion; it’s none of my business.’

Yolanda Hadid stated that she had previously received breast implants, fillers and Botox in a 2019 Instagram post.

At the time, she said she had everything removed and was ‘finally back to her original’ self after the ‘toxicity’ surrounding beauty standards ‘almost killed her.’

Years earlier, Hadid had documented her explant surgery and the aftermath on season six of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

She originally got the explant surgery to fix a ruptured breast implant, but the doctors also found 2.8-3cm silicone granulomas floating around other places in her body, like her lymph nodes, she penned in a 2016 blog post for Bravo TV.

The former model warned her fans and followers to ‘make educated decisions’ and research before you go under the knife or decide to get cosmetic enhancements.

‘Living in a body free of breast implants, fillers, Botox, extensions and all the bulls**t I thought I needed in order to keep up with what society conditioned me to believe what a sexy woman should look like until the toxicity of it all almost killed me,’ Hadid wrote in the 2019 Instagram post.

‘Your health is your wealth so please make educated decisions, research the partial information you’re given by our broken system before putting anything foreign in your body,’ her message continued.

Hadid also shared that she had spent years ‘undoing’ some of her ‘bad choices.’

‘It took me many years of undoing some bad choices I made for myself before I finally found the freedom to sustainable internal beauty and acceptance of what is the best version of myself by nobody’s standards but my own,’ she said.

‘It’s on us to learn to love ourselves and celebrate our unique, one of a kind beauty at all ages as we move through this journey called “life.” Beauty has no meaning without your health.’

Model Teigen previously had breast implants, but had them removed in 2020 after she admitted that she was ‘over’ them.

She made the announcement in an Instagram post, as she published a picture of herself topless in the ocean, with heart emojis covering her nipples.

Teigen shared that she was having them removed after she posted a picture of herself getting a COVID-19 test, which had sparked interest from her fans.

‘Hi hi! So I posted myself getting a COVID-19 test on Twitter, as I’m getting surgery soon,’ her message at the time began.

‘A lot of people are understandably curious (and nosey!) so I’ll just say it here: I’m getting my boobs out! They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it.’

‘I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort! No biggie! So don’t worry about me!’ she joked. ‘All good. I’ll still have boobs, they’ll just be pure fat.’

Over the years, she has been quite open about her other plastic surgery procedures.

Most recently, in 2025, the wife of John Legend underwent a hairline lowering procedure.

And in 2021, she alerted fans she had liposuction in her face for a more slender appearance.

Previously, in 2017, she said she had the same procedure on her underarms.

‘I had my armpit sucked out,’ she said in response to a question about what the ‘craziest treatment’ she had ever received.

In a 2022 interview with Vogue, model Bella Hadid revealed that she underwent a rhinoplasty at the young age of 14, but deeply regretted the decision.

‘I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,’ she admitted at the time. ‘I think I would have grown into it.’

During the interview, she also denied having any other cosmetic procedures.

Previously, it was rumored that she had an eye lift, jaw shaving surgery and lip filler, all of which she said was not true.

Instead, she insisted that her lifted look was due to ‘face tape.’

‘People think I fully f**ked with my face because of one picture of me as a teenager looking puffy. I’m pretty sure you don’t look the same now as you did at 13, right?’ she said.

‘I have never used filler. Let’s just put an end to that. I have no issue with it, but it’s not for me.’

‘Whoever thinks I’ve gotten my eyes lifted or whatever it’s called – it’s face tape! The oldest trick in the book,’ the Victoria’s Secret model shared.

‘I’ve had this impostor syndrome where people made me feel like I didn’t deserve any of this.

‘People always have something to say, but what I have to say is, I’ve always been misunderstood in my industry and by the people around me.’

Makeup mogul Jenner has admitted that she got breast implants when she was just 19, but later expressed some serious regret over the decision.

She explained on season three of The Kardashians on Hulu that she went under the knife just a few months before she found out she was pregnant with her daughter, Stormi Webster, who is now seven years old.

‘I got my breasts done before Stormi,’ she confessed to her pal Anastasia ‘Stassie’ Karanikolaou during a scene on the show.

‘Within six months of having Stormi – not thinking I would have a child when I was 20 – they were still healing,’ she said.

She added that she had ‘beautiful breasts’ before, and wished that she hadn’t gotten them done.

‘I would recommend anyone thinking about it to wait until after children,’ Jenner said.

Previously, when she was 18, she blasted accusations that she had undergone a boob job and instead explained that she had been wearing Bombshell by Victoria’s Secret padded bras.

Jenner also previously claimed in August 2016 that her busty cleavage look was due to it being ‘that time of the month.’

‘TMI but it’s that time of the month,’ she said in a Twitter Q&A in 2016 in response to a fan asking whether she had a boob job.
