Amanda Bynes' family not considering conservatorship amid psych hold

Amanda Bynes’ parents aren’t considering another conservatorship for their daughter despite her recent psychiatric episode.

A source close to the family told TMZ that despite the mental break, Lynn Bynes and Rick Bynes found solace in the fact that the “Easy A” actress called the police on herself.

Bynes, 36, had been living by herself and attending her cosmetology classes, so the source believes Sunday’s episode was an “anomaly.”

Bynes’ attorney didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

However, the “All That” alum’s ex-fiancé, Paul Michael, claimed to Page Six exclusively that Bynes had been “off her meds” in the time leading up to this weekend’s scare.

“She got off her meds, and she’s still off her meds,” he alleged. “She’s wild.”

A source also told NBC News that Bynes hadn’t “been in contact with her family for quite some time.”

As Page Six reported Monday, Bynes was placed on a psychiatric hold early Sunday after roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked.

An eyewitness told TMZ that the former “Amanda Show” star, who is bipolar, flagged down a car without any clothes on her person and told the driver she was coming down from a psychiatric episode.

The child star then called 911 on herself and was taken to a police station, where a mental health expert determined she needed to be placed on a 5150 hold, which typically lasts 72 hours.

The incident came nearly one year to the day that Bynes was freed from her conservatorship, which lasted close to nine years.

At the time the judge ruled the legal arrangement was no longer necessary, Bynes was was “doing very well” and “looking forward” to moving in with Michael.

The pair ultimately split in July 2022 but remain close friends, having been seen together as recently as December 2022.
