Oscar-winning actress and former UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie was spotted this week in the embattled city of Kherson, Ukraine, reportedly on a humanitarian mission.
Kherson has been a frontline target of Russian forces since 2022, and locals say Jolie visited several hospitals, including a maternity ward and a children’s hospital, bringing attention to civilians caught in the crossfire.
Former city council member Vitaliy Bohdanov shared photos of Jolie in a body armor vest bearing the Legacy of War Foundation patch, a charity assisting those affected by the conflict.
Another local outlet posted images of Jolie playing with children in a toy-strewn playroom, all while donning the protective gear.
Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for Jolie.
Russian forces continue near-daily strikes on Kherson, including an October 29 attack on a children’s hospital that injured nine, highlighting the perilous conditions Jolie faced during her visit.

Jolie served as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador from 2001 to 2012 and as Special Envoy until 2022, carrying out more than 60 field missions to aid refugees and displaced families.

She spoke with displaced families at the city’s railway station, taking shelter under air raid sirens.
The Malificent star also paid a visit to Ukrainian child refugees in Rome that same year.
That same year, she visited Ukrainian child refugees in Rome at Bambino Gesu pediatric hospital just outside Vatican City.
Here she met Ukranian children who had arrived in Italy after fleeing the war in their home country.
These children were among the more than two million estimated by UNICEF who have fled Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, with another 2.5 million displaced internally.

In February 2022, Jolie spoke about the war in Ukraine in a post to her Instagram followers.
She wrote: ‘Like many of you, I’m praying for the people in Ukraine.
‘My focus along with my @refugees colleagues is that everything possible is done to ensure the protection and basic human rights of those displaced, and refugees in the region.
‘We have already seen reports of casualties and people starting to flee their homes to seek safety.
‘It is too soon to know what will happen, but the significance of this moment – for the people of Ukraine, and for the international rule of law – cannot be overstated.’
Jolie’s decades-long humanitarian work earned her a Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 2013.
The visit to Ukraine comes after Jolie’s next career move was revealed as she prepares to be the latest A-lister to flee Hollywood.
The actress is reuniting with the Mr. and Mrs. Smith director Doug Liman for another spy thriller.
