Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman explored Lake Como, Italy by boat with their two children on Sunday

Anne Hathaway enjoyed a well-deserved break from filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 to explore one of Italy’s most star-studded destinations with her family.

Production of the highly-anticipated sequel recently moved to Milan, with Anne and her co-stars spotted throwing themselves into character in recent days.

But on Sunday Anne, 42, took some time off to be with her husband Adam Shulman, 44, and their two children, Jack, five, and Jonathan, nine.

The four went sightseeing by boat in Lake Como, the romantic waterfront destination favored by stars.

Anne was dressed in an outfit her Runway colleagues would have been proud of.

She sported a black blazer style coat, a chic pair of angled sunglasses, and a leather purse accessorized with a ribbon.

Jonathan was also looking sharp in a dark blue jacket paired of black trousers.

Last week Anne was spotted with co-star Emily Blunt as they resumed production in Milan.

Arriving to reprise her role as the acid-tongued assistant Emily Charlton, Emily rushed to embrace her co-star Anne.

In recent days all of the cast have been spotted in Milan to film The Devil Wears Prada 2, with Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci even sitting front row at the Dolca and Gabbana show.

The sequel is set for a May 2026 release – exactly 20 years after the original became a cultural phenomenon.

Whilst finalised plot details have been kept secret, it is thought audiences are set to follow Miranda as she grapples with the struggles facing print magazines.

Reports suggest she’ll need to turn to her former assistant Emily – who was played by Blunt and is now a top executive at a luxury label – in a bid to secure vital advertising deals.

When the first film came out, Emily’s character was rumoured to be inspired by former Vogue writer Victoria ‘Plum’ Sykes, who herself has strenuously denied as much.

Miranda Priestly’s character however, is thought to be inspired by American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who announced she would be stepping down from her role in June after 37 years.

The original Devil Wears Prada wasn’t just a box office smash – it cemented itself as a cultural touchstone, turning Streep’s Miranda Priestly into an instantly iconic character and inspiring a generation of fashion lovers to whisper, ‘That’s all.’

The original scored two Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress for Meryl Streep, who also took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

It earned five BAFTA nods, three Golden Globe nominations overall, and cemented itself as one of the defining comedies of the 2000s.

David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna, the director and writer respectively of the original movie, have been enlisted for the same jobs on the sequel.

The Devil Wears Prada is based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger and was published in 2003.

It has since been made into a musical, starring Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly and with music by Elton John.
