Since the 2012 season, the Los Angeles Rams have made their mark in the front office.
In 2014, the organization drafted Aaron Donald, who can be considered one of the greatest defensive players of all time. The FO hired Sean McVay in 2017 to become head coach and has led the team to six postseason appearances and a Super Bowl. The Rams traded for quarterback Matthew Stafford, who helped the organization win the Super Bowl in the 2021-22 season.
The one key familiar face during that time for the Rams is general manager Les Snead, who has been with the team since 2012. Snead is the winningest GM in franchise history during his tenure from St. Louis to LA.
The Athletic has released its annual anonymous survey asking NFL executives and head coaches who has the best front office in the league, with the Rams being polled higher than last year’s iteration.

In the 2024 release of the Athletic survey, the Los Angeles Rams were hailed as the 8th-best front office in the league. With the most recent release, the Rams front office is now ranked as the 3rd-best, finishing behind the Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The votes were from first-place votes to fifth-place votes, with Los Angeles receiving three 1st-place, four 2nd-place, three 3rd-place, two 2nd-place and 5 5th-place votes by the anonymous pollsters.
Here is what some execs and head coaches had to say about the Rams’ front office, via The Athletic:
“They’re the model of outside-the-box thinking,” an executive said.
“They stay ahead of where defenses are trending,” an executive said. “They’re really good at being ahead of other teams. It’s a great example of a coach and GM being on the same page.”
“(Snead) has no ego and just loves evaluating players,” an executive said. “They have drafted well. They had the (‘f— them picks’ mantra) for a while to get top talent and now have changed up and are drafting and infusing their team with a ton of good young talent. Sean has a hell of a culture there, and he knows what he wants.”

Head coach Sean McVay has mentioned his affinity for Les Snead, as the duo has helped the Los Angeles Rams achieve great heights in recent seasons.
“The thing I’m most proud of as anything is that, in a lot of instances, when you have success, sometimes you can have leadership positions where there becomes a tension and a strain, and all we’ve done is get closer,” McVay said.
“And the more I work with Les, the more I appreciate him. Love him as a friend and really, I can’t envision myself doing it with anybody else…”
This offseason, the Rams front office signed wide receiver Davante Adams, extended running back Kyren Williams and agreed to a two-year extension with Stafford.
Under Snead and McVay, the Rams are set for the next couple of years.
