Ant Anstead is concerned his ex-wife Christina Haack is allegedly “exploiting” their son, Hudson, amid their ongoing custody battle.
In a court declaration obtained by Us Weekly on Tuesday, he claimed that Haack is using their 2-year-old son for personal gain, adding that “the risks for a child working on a television production set (even if that ‘set’ is Christina’s home) are innumerable and well documented.”
He continued, “Putting aside the obvious pressures of working within a TV production environment, children involved in television production often have lingering issues that affect their welfare, worldview, and self-image, leaving them diminished and dependent upon the perceived approval of others for their self-worth.”
Anstead, 43, stated that his goal is to make sure that Hudson “is allowed a childhood that is joyful, healthy, and natural, with as few stresses as possible, and this should be prioritized above creating commercial opportunity and content.”
“Ever since I can remember I really struggled with sleeping,…
The “Master Mechanic” star went on to cite former “Toddlers and Tiaras” star Kailia Posey‘s suicide as an example of those “lingering effects.”
“One of my many fears of Hudson being forced to film reality TV is the possibility that public ridicule over seemingly benign content becomes insurmountably humiliating,” he alleged. “I urge the courts to review the recent and tragic case of Kailia Posey and a defining embarrassing meme.”
Haack has since rebutted Anstead’s claims, saying that the “Wheeler Dealers” host’s allegation is “truly offensive and simply untrue.”
In court documents obtained by Page Six, she claimed, “I have never exploited our son Hudson. He appeared in a few of my own Instagram ads that each took less than 5 minutes to film. I have all the footage and they were all fun activities that he enjoyed doing, such as playing with toys or making cookies.”
She further alleged that “nothing was forced.”
Haack, 39, claimed that the pair had already gone to “private mediation” to try and work things out, and that “his declaration makes it clear that he is only interested in smearing me publicly.”
While taking Hudson away from Haack is apparently the “last thing” that Anstead wants, back in April, he claimed the mother of three had only seen their son “nine full days each month” over the last 20 months.
He also accused the “Flip or Flop” star of using their son as a “puppet” to get more brand deals on social media — which she also denied, saying his claims “deeply saddened” her.
Anstead and Hall welcomed Hudson in September 2019, but they split one year later. They finalized their divorce in June 2021 and Haack has since moved on and married Joshua Hall.
She has two children — Taylor, 12, and son Brayden, 7 — with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa.
Anstead has also found love once again and is now dating actress Renée Zellweger.
Reps for Anstead had no comment at this time.
