Aryna Sabalenka is ready for marriage with boyfriend Georgios Frangulis .
The top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka looks to continue her dominance when she faces Elena Rybakina in the 2026 Australian Open final.
Sabalenka previously won the Australian Open in 2024 and 2023, the latter of which was against Rybakina. The Belarusian star reached the finals after defeating Elina Svitolina of Ukraine 6-2, 6-3. She’s the third woman in the Open Era to reach four consecutive singles finals at the Australian Open.
As for Rybakina, the Kazakhstani star is making her third career Grand Slam appearance after taking down Jessica Pegula 6-3,7-6 in the semifinals.
Neither Sabalenka nor Rybakina, the No. 5 seed, has dropped a set during their run at Melbourne Park, making for a thrilling finals matchup. Cheering Sabalenka on at Rod Laver Arena is her No. 1 fan and boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis.

Sabalenka started dating Frangulis, 37, following the death of her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, a former hockey star. The couple first went public with their relationship in May 2024.
As Sabalenka and Franulis’ second anniversary approaches, the 27-year-old has not been shy about wanting some hardware on her ring finger.

After winning the Brisbane Internationale title on January 11, she called out Frangulis for taking his sweet time to propose.
“Last but not least, thank you to my team for handling me. I really am the toughest to handle and you are the toughest in the world because you can handle me,” she said. “Thank you to my boyfriend… Hopefully soon I can call you something else.”
The cameras immediately panned to the CEO and co-founder of Oakberry. “Let’s just put some extra pressure,” Sabalenka added with a laugh.
In an interview after the match, she doubled down when asked if she’s calling for a wedding ring. “I’m just putting some pressure, I mean, how long? Come on,” Sabalenka said with a huge smile on her face. “I think by now he should figure it out.”
Aryna Sabalenka Does Not Want Georgios Frangulis to Orchestrate a Public Proposal
This wasn’t the first time the four-time Grand Slam champion hinted at tying the knot with the Brazilian businessman. During Sabalenka’s third-round match against Leylah Fernandez at the U.S. Open in September, a fan proposed to his girlfriend in the crowd following the first set.
After Sabalenka defeated Fernandez in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6, she spoke to reporters about the viral moment.
“I think it’s the first time that someone proposed during my match,” Sabalenka said. “It was a very sweet moment, but I was just trying not to start smiling, because it’s very cute and I believe they’re super happy right now.”
“I was just trying to keep focusing on my game, and it was great moment,” Sabalenka added. “And as I said on court, I wish them a happy marriage.”
When asked if the proposal gave “somebody else in the crowd got some ideas,” she sent a clear message on how she envisions her engagement happening. “I don’t want this kind of proposal,” she said of the public spectacle. “But I looked at my boyfriend. Yeah. No pressure.”
