Aldi Australia is dropping the ultimate Formula One-inspired toy this weekend

Parents of mini speed demons will want to start their engines – because Aldi Australia is dropping the ultimate Formula One-inspired toy this weekend.

From Saturday, September 13, shoppers can snap up a licensed Aston Martin F1 Go Kart for $199 in the supermarket’s famous middle aisle.

The electric ride-on, designed for kids aged three and up, comes decked out with working front and rear lights, independent accelerator and brake, adjustable frame and even a multi-functional control module.

It’s powered by a 12V battery with twin motors, and can carry up to 50kg – meaning older kids can also get a few laps in around the driveway.

Australia’s love affair with Formula One has never been stronger, with homegrown drivers like Oscar Piastri, Daniel Ricciardo, and Mark Webber inspiring a new generation of fans.

And as every F1 star knows, the road to the grid often begins with go-karting.

That’s why parents are already eyeing this miniature Aston Martin as the perfect way to fuel their little one’s racing dreams – or at the very least, keep them busy while they burn laps around the backyard.

For families caught up in the Netflix-driven F1 craze, it’s also a way to bring a slice of the pit lane home.

Excited shoppers have taken to social media to share their reactions, with some joking they might need one for themselves.

‘Do I have a kid? No. Would I still buy it? Yes.’ one wrote.

Another added, ‘I’m not in Australia but I need this. This is how I want to pull up to every function.’

Others are already dreaming of modifications.

‘My husband wants to replace the battery so it has a bigger battery and more power,’ one woman said, while another joked about repainting theirs in McLaren livery as a tribute to current championship leader Oscar Piastri’s team.

One fan summed up the magic of Aldi’s middle aisle perfectly, saying, ‘The magical mystery aisle at Aldi is always a journey of discovery and adventure!’

With demand for Aldi specials often going full throttle, those wanting to score the Aston Martin Go Kart will need to be quick – or risk being lapped by other eager shoppers.
