I just thought I’d take a quick post to run down what we’ve heard as far as assets either in or headed towards the Middle East as there seems to be a fair amount of spazzing going on about the potential building for US involvement. By which I mean, a fingers-on-triggers, boots-on-the-ground sort of thing.
While providing intelligence, armaments, supplies, defensive capabilities, etc. for this magnificent Israeli effort, we do NOT and have NOT been ‘actively’ involved, as in offensive operations with US personnel or ‘pulling a trigger’ on Iranian assets ourselves.
We’ve just made sure the Israelis have everything they need to get done what they needed to do, and for once, thank GOD, gotten out of the way for them to git ‘er done.
That being said, it doesn’t mean that the United States isn’t going to be fully prepared in case something goes sideways during this conflict and our thousands of military, dependents, government employees, and contractors in the region are deliberately targeted by the rogue Iranian regime, lashing out in a last gasp effort.
What we’ve been seeing is a projection of force in every corner of our military, and it’s been pretty impressive.
The Air Force has been moving assets into the theater, from fighters…

…to tankers, to augment assets already in Europe and the Middle East.
Another wave of USAF aircraft, consisting of a mix of C-17s and KC-135s, is currently transiting the Atlantic. This activity strongly suggests an ongoing and deliberate expansion of both aerial refueling and logistical operations.

The USS Nimitz carrier strike group is on its way, the USS Carl Vinson is already on station, and it’s been announced that the USS Gerald Ford has been redirected to the region, too.

They have plenty of company with American destroyers, the USS Canberra – the first Littoral Combat Ship ‘equipped with the “next-generation” mine countermeasures package, and 4x Avenger-class MCMs from Task Force (CTF) 52’ – as well as a host of other US Navy assets accompanying them.
Update | U.S. Navy ships deployed to the Middle East & Europe
– NSA Bahrain cleared out; mine countermeasure ships underway
– Command ship USS Mount Whitney in Baltic Sea
– Vinson Carrier Strike Group (CSG) in Arabian Sea
– 9-10 Aegis destroyers available
– Nimitz CSG days away pic.twitter.com/V9pYgmQLRa— Ian Ellis (@ianellisjones) June 18, 2025
The number of Navy and Marine Corps air and ground assets in those carrier groups is nothing to dismiss out of hand. They can bring the fight anywhere it needs to be.
FORCE PROJECTION
Contingency cooperation plans are also in place with allies and strategic locations for our long-range air assets.

…The US may request access to the Diego Garcia base, where B-2 bombers capable of hitting Iran’s Fordow nuclear site are often stationed.

You’ll notice the verbiage: ‘may‘ request. Nothing’s saying we’re going to strike Fordow.
The Iranians need to get the unmistakable message that everything is locked in, so we could, should we take a fancy to the idea.
FORCE PROJECTION
Marines are there, too, never fear.
Still thinking about the fact that some Marines are currently roasting on a crappy ship in the Middle East and others have been deployed to Los Angeles to crack commie skulls by day and chase around California girls by night.
Life is truly unfair.

It looks like some bigwigs who still can are bugging out of the country. Four Iranian government jets left this afternoon and landed in Oman.
So far, we have no idea who was onboard.
Per @liveatc JJ25 advising Muscat Ground that there are going to be a total of four aircraft coming from Iran? What’s going on? pic.twitter.com/UwTv2UIswV

…which is a terrifying prospect for those with short memories of what happens when the regime is cornered.
The regime has cut off the entire internet across Iran.
Last time they did this in 2019, they proceeded to massacre over 7000 people in just one weekend.

And make no mistake – they ARE cornered. The Israelis have been pounding them with impunity all day, gradually moving down their target lists and taking out ever smaller and more integral parts of the regime as well as decimating any remnants of a functioning military structure.

…”He just lost his chance to make a big beautiful deal. Stupid man. I call him the Cry-atollah. Always begging me to stop Israel.”
With all that said, the fact remains that Iran is an island now. Nowhere to turn for the mullahs.
With seemingly nowhere to hide any longer, Israel gives them what they’ve long been asking for and never thought they’d get.
The United States is on site, protecting our forces.
While letting the drama play out with the implicit threat hanging over Iran’s head that the times have changed, and there will be blood if they feel the least bit froggy.
May God bless and protect our valiant troops on land, sea, and in the air.
