Bad Bunny was left ‘devastated’ after a very awkward ‘fan-boy’ moment with Lady Gaga went south at the 2026 Grammys, a body language expert has claimed.
The Puerto Rican rapper, 31, took home the award for Album of the Year at the star-studded ceremony, which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
And while the singer – who donned a chic Schiaparelli tuxedo – came off as cool and confident throughout the event, a slightly uncomfortable interaction between him and Gaga in the audience has now gone viral.
A clip that has been viewed nearly two million times on X, formerly Twitter, showed Bunny sitting in his seat during the ceremony when Gaga, 39, approached him from behind and tapped his shoulder.
The I Like It crooner seemed to be taken by surprise when she touched him and jumped before he turned around to see who it was.
After his shocked reaction to her embrace, Gaga whispered something in his ear and quickly left, as Bunny appeared to look longingly after her.
Body language expert Judi James analyzed the curt exchange exclusively with the Daily Mail, and she explained that Bad Bunny seemed horrified ‘at having missed the opportunity to chat’ with the Bad Romance songstress.
‘[Gaga] went out of her way to creep down to congratulate Bad Bunny rather than pulling rank and asking for him to be sent to her or waiting until he found her,’ James said.

‘This is a flattering gesture to Bad Bunny, although her approach from behind seems to have startled him.
‘As Gaga taps him on the shoulde,r his hands rise up in a jerking movement as though he thinks he’s had a visit from the Grim Reaper here.
‘The jerking movement with the splayed fingers suggests genuine fear or surprise in the moment and he then looks to the wrong side before finally turning his head and spotting her.’
James explained that when Bad Bunny realized who it was that touched him he had a clear ‘fan-boy’ reaction.
‘He performs a virtual swoon of pleasure,’ she continued. ‘Gaga kisses his cheek but then departs into the night, leaving him looking devastated at having missed the opportunity to chat.
‘In a very sweet move, he turns his head to look at his neighbors as though wanting to check that he isn’t dreaming and that they saw her too.’
James added that while Bunny ‘might have dressed and posed like celebrity royalty’ at the event, his demeanor and interactions with his A-list peers came off as ‘humble.’

Gaga was seen getting tearful during Bad Bunny’s acceptance speech, during which he made a series of political statements.
‘Before I say thanks to god, I’m gonna say ICE out,’ he said. ‘We’re not savage. We’re not animals. We’re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans.’
Gaga told Entertainment Tonight afterwards about her reaction: ‘What he means to people is so incredibly important. He’s a brilliant musician and human being.
‘I thought what he said was incredibly important and so inspiring. What’s happening in this country is incredibly heartbreaking, and we’re so lucky to have leaders like him that are speaking up for what is true and what is right.’
