Browns reportedly interested in Chris Olave

The Cleveland Browns are looking to make a splash to bolster their offense.

Cleveland is looking to find a true No. 1 receiver, and the Browns are going big-game hunting. Browns insider Jared Mueller of DawgsByNature reported that Cleveland is showing interest in trading for New Orleans Saints receiver Chris Olave.

“While fans will talk about results a lot with Berry in Cleveland, the league thinks more about process despite all the “outcome-oriented” lingo thrown around,” Mueller wrote. “Berry is well respected for his process, including being very straightforward about his discussion, price points, and desires.

“He’s also considered persistent and resilient in that he’ll revisit trade ideas from the previous trade deadline just a few months later to see if they can happen again. WR Chris Olave is an example of that and is back on the Browns trade radar.”

Olave’s name has come up in trade rumors as he’s entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2026. So, a trade would likely have to come with an extension. But with the Browns having two first-round picks, they have the assets to make a trade work.

Olave recorded 100 receptions for 1,163 yards and 9 touchdowns last season.

Browns Expect Jeudy to be Big Part of Offense

Cleveland has been searching for a No. 1 recever and the team is expected to pursue options this offseason.

However, Jerry Jeudy is still under contract, and Browns general manager Andrew Berry believes he’s a key part of the offense.

“I think we can add all across the offense to be honest,” Berry said. “We’re really pleased with some of the younger players we have. Jerry (Jeudy) is gonna be a big part of it, and we’re pleased with Isaiah’s rookie year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t add to the arsenal.

“Malachi (Corley), he carved out a nice role. But we probably look at it more like global weapons and global pass catchers and Harold (Fannin Jr.) would be a part of that, obviously. Q is a weapon for us. You want to look at it as the overall infrastructure as opposed to one position.”

Jeudy struggled last season as he recorded 50 receptions for 602 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Todd Monken Calls WR Room a Work in Progress

The Browns’ offense could use some work this offseason, and adding to the receiver room is key.

Following Cleveland’s hiring of Todd Monken as their head coach, he was asked about the receiver room and admitted it’s a work in progress.

“Well, it’s kind of a work in progress,” Monken said at his introductory press conference. “It’s kind of hard right now because right now we’re spending the majority of our time on building an elite staff. I mean that’s really what we’re doing right now.

“There’ll be time for me to really get a chance to assess the receiver room. Most of it’s been from afar. Same with the offensive line, and how we’re going to construct the roster moving forward, especially offensively.”

The Browns’ WR room is led by Jeudy.
