As Democrats slander ICE agents as a modern-day Gestapo and work to pass legislation that would effectively doxx any law enforcement officers simply doing their duty by enforcing laws that have been passed in a bipartisan fashion, the drug and human trafficking cartels are sending a signal to them.

Of course, with Trump upping his war against the drug cartels–who, under Biden, actually made as much or more money from human trafficking–the possibility of retaliation was always a concern. What the Democrats have done is signal that they are willing to help by making it easier to track and identify ICE and CBP agents. They have built applications to track agents, devoted websites to doxxing them, passed laws to force them to be unmasked, and supported rioters who have ambushed them.
EXCLUSIVE — Federal law enforcement believes bounties placed on the heads of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweeping the streets of Chicago originated in Mexico and that local gangs are actively trying to carry out the assassinations.
The Department of Homeland Security shared internal information from the Drug Enforcement Administration with the Washington Examiner on Thursday afternoon, stating how gangs in Chicago’s southwest neighborhoods were offered bounties between $5,000 and $50,000 for each ICE employee assassination.

DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said earlier this week that “bounties” were being offered for slain ICE officers and agents.
DHS’s latest disclosure to the Washington Examiner additionally states that “allegedly, bounties and instructions were directed from Mexico.”
Democrats have been using the fact that ICE agents are masked as proof that they are engaged in nefarious activities, neatly avoiding the fact that the targets of their activity are, for the most part, evil people engaged in evil activity. Pravda and the Democrats cherry-pick sob stories of innocents or sympathetic illegal aliens getting detained in the dragnet for illegal alien criminals to make it seem like stormtroopers are scouring the land to torture innocents, rather than hardened professionals facing ambushes, death threats, and now actual bounties on their heads.

Forgive me if I don’t give these Democrats the benefit of a doubt they do not deserve. Proof that they are protecting illegal alien criminals is not hard to get: in Chicago alone, the city government has shielded about 1700 criminals from deportation by refusing to hand them over to ICE from city jails. These people are not Jose the roofer and Juan the gardener wanting to feed their families–they are criminals in custody, and Chicago would rather release them onto the streets to commit crimes again rather than allow them to be deported.

Democrats have been having a dalliance with political violence of late and have developed an assassination culture. As I have written before, it is notable that violent rhetoric against Republicans skyrocketed AFTER the first assassination attempt on Trump, and it has been going strong ever since–and the violence has escalated along with it.
Democrats doubled down on the Gestapo comments after multiple ambushes of ICE and CBP agents, and didn’t stop after the recent murders in Dallas. The leftist line is that the violence will continue until they get their way. They regularly impede, confront, and attack ICE agents to get video of “protesters” being “assaulted” for “no reason,” to get propaganda victories. It is a milder version of the Hamas strategy of maximizing civilian casualties to get sympathy.
Should it surprise us that the Democrats’ strategy has encouraged the cartels to get into the act? Obviously not–the open border policies of the Biden administration added billions to their bottom line, and Trump’s slamming the border closed and anti-cartel policies are an existential threat to them.
For the cartels, it’s a natural alliance. Unfortunately, it appears the Democrats think the same.
