Former Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is making the media rounds as part of her book tour. The book is called “Independent:
CBS’s Tony Dokoupil was discussing his initial reaction to Jean-Pierre’s new book “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines,” which assesses the nation’s two-party system and details Jean-Pierre’s time serving under Biden.
Dokoupil shared that rather than her coming to Biden’s defense, he thought — based on the book’s title — that she was going to reveal that she was “angry” that Biden’s mental decline was holding him back from following through with the 2024 Presidential Election.
“But mostly, what you said in this book, is you were angry at the people who tried to push him out,” Dokoupil said. “Some Americans are going to say: ‘Seriously!?’”
KJP did her best to dodge that line of question but Gayle King brought it right back, asking how it was possible she didn’t see Biden’s decline when she was meeting with him daily, including on the day of the debate that sunk his campaign. KJP claims she was on the plane with him but didn’t really talk to him until after the debate.
“When we were on Air Force One going to the debate … his campaign people were on the team, his family was on the team,” Jean-Pierre explained. “[It] actually was one of those rare trips where I didn’t really see him until after the debate even though I was on the plane.”

Kamala Harris also has a book out and she claimed in the book that Biden called to yell at her just hours before her own debate. KJP also gave an interview to the Bulwark where she was asked about that and once again she did her best to dodge and not say anything negative about Biden.
As an example of how Biden supposedly put his own self-interest above Harris’s after “stepping aside” from the Democratic ticket, Miller said: “he story– he called her before the debate to say that people were being mean to him? Like what is happening? What is happening? That is insane! That is an insane thing to do!”
“Hold on a second, Tim,” she responded. “You’re talking about her experience– I can’t speak to that.”
“But you were around,” Miller replied, with some sarcasm.
Jean-Pierre could respond only by saying that Biden’s legacy was not her focus as his press secretary, which she said had been on the administration’s work for the American people.
I mean, what?! What is she doing right now if now protecting Biden’s legacy? She’s doing it during both of these interviews and apparently it’s the point of her book. So are we supposed to believe she wasn’t interested in that when she was press secretary?
It’s really not believable. KJP has clearly decided that, given her position seeing Biden up close every day, there’s no way for her to admit what was really going on without killing her own credibility. Is there a moment where she knew something was wrong with Biden? I’d bet there were several but we’re never going to hear about them from this independent.
She’s really just sticking with the cheap fake approach to this whole topic, i.e. Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes? These anchors keep pointing out that everyone could see a problem and she just keeps saying she never saw it and she was closer to him that the rest of us so clearly she was right and the entire country was wrong.
Speaking of her switch to become an Independent, that also seems to be fake. She was asked directly in the next hour of the CBS Morning Show if as a newly-minted Independent voter she would ever consider voting for a Republican. One guess how she responded.

So, to sum up, this is a book subtitled “A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines.” In her first interviews to promote the book, the author has revealed that the White House wasn’t broken (not in the way that every single observer of that debate could see it was). Also she’ll never stray outside the party lines in any meaningful way.
If KJP were a Republican falling on her face this badly it would be a top story at every news site. As it is, all of the big ones seem to have decided this is a non-story. Nothing to see here, let’s move on.
