Kansas City Chiefs superstar defensive lineman Chris Jones made a Super Bowl prediction.

The Kansas City Chiefs are prime candidates to pay a veteran edge-rusher on a one-year mercenary deal, and one name continues popping up.

Cameron Jordan, who has spent his entire 15-year NFL career with the New Orleans Saints, hit unrestricted free agency for the first time this offseason. Nate Taylor of ESPN wrote last week that Kansas City is interested in acquiring the eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro.

“Moving forward in free agency, the Chiefs are a possible destination for pass-rusher Cameron Jordan, according to a league source,” Taylor wrote. “The 15-year veteran spent last season with the New Orleans Saints, recording 10.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.”

Chiefs superstar defensive tackle Chris Jones sent a message on social media in recent days that was just two words: “Cam Jordan…”

Taylor reported that Jones has since confirmed that post was a form of recruitment and endorsement of Jordan.

“Jones revealed that he was pitching the idea of Jordan, who’s a free agent, joining the Chiefs by posting his name on his X account last week,” Taylor continued. “If Jordan did join the Chiefs, he would give them a clear upgrade on the edge while playing on the opposite side of defensive end George Karlaftis.”

Cameron Jordan Can Offer Chiefs Improved Pass Rush at Value

Spotrac projects Jordan’s market value at $6.8 million on a one-year contract as he heads into his age-37 season.

Jordan is more of a situational pass-rusher now that a three-down player, but he remains a highly talented performer in that regard and possesses a skill set the Chiefs continue hunting after an offseason full of meaningful losses on defense.

“Jordan has recorded 763 tackles, 175 tackles for loss and 132 sacks in his 243 career games,” Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports wrote earlier this month when calling Jordan a “perfect fit” for the team. “The Chiefs have lost plenty on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, including Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, Bryan Cook, Leo Chenal, Charles Omenihu and Derrick Nnadi. Kansas City could score Jordan on a cheap deal as the Chiefs look to rebound in 2026.”

Jordan would be a welcome addition on the edge of a defensive line that already added a quality tackle to play alongside Jones on the inside earlier in free agency.

Kansas City inked Khyiris Tonga to a three-year contract worth $21 million in what several NFL analysts have widely regarded as one of the better value signings across the league this spring.

“Tonga should provide plenty of strength and run-stuffing ability alongside Jones,” Taylor wrote on March 16. “Tonga had a career year with the [New England] Patriots last season, producing 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and two pass deflections in 14 games. Jones reacted to the news Monday by writing on his X account, ‘Tonga is a dawg.’”
